Claiming hair loss, 200 women sue WEN hair care
By Felicia Rodriguez
You’ve probably heard of WEN by chance on television. You probably know it has to do with hair, or that it’s by celebrity stylist Chaz Dean.
But now, thanks to this article by The Daily Beast, you’ve probably heard of the 200 women who are suing WEN hair care with the claim of the product causing extreme hair loss, breakage, scalp damage and irritation.
Even though the WEN products continue to get 5-star reviews on Amazon, many negatives reviews have surfaced from hundreds of women who’ve had their life “destroyed” by the products used on celebrities such as Brooke Shields.
200 women have joined the class action lawsuit against WEN by Chaz Dean and its marketing giant Guthy-Renker with allegations of the aforementioned damage, along with claims of the company not warning consumers of the potential dangers despite stating WEN is gentle enough to use every day.
Guthy-Renker stated: “Importantly, there is no scientific evidence to support any claim that our hair care products caused anyone to lose their hair. There are many reasons why individuals may lose their hair, all unrelated to WEN hair products. We intend to vigorously contest the allegations made against our products. And, we encourage any customer with any questions to contact us.”
