2012 Holiday Beauty Trends
As holiday parties shift into high gear, so do the festive beauty trends that we’ll let you in on with a few of our favorite tips.
A subtle, beige lip
The secret to not looking washed out with a pale lip is to choose a color that is 2 tones darker than your actual skin tone. It will look most flattering if you’ve decided to party without any foundation or eye shadow. But wear lots of mascara to accentuate your eyes.
Metallic smokey eye
A little sparkle goes a long way. Apply copper eye shadow or liner in the inner corners of the eye for a twinkle, with a darker brown shadow at the edges. This look goes great with a pale lip.
Dark black eyeliner
Lining your lid and under your eye will not only create a dramatic effect, but it will last throughout that holiday evening party if you use a black kohl liner. Line the inner corner of your eyes to close-in larger eyes. Complete this look with a light pink or peach cheek and lip color.
Wine or cherry lips
A bold lip color would be the easiest way to get noticed at that party! But we recommend using a lip liner first to hone in on your actual lip shape and prevent the color from bleeding. A wine color would work for all skin tones, whether you’re light, medium, or dark. Keep your eye makeup light to make your lip color stand out even more.
